Variations and Substitutions
If you want a thin crust, you won’t need as much dough. You won’t need all the sauce if you’re making a thicker, smaller pizza.
Taco Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough at room temperature
- 1 pound ground beef
- 15 ounces refried beans
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 2 cups Mexican blend or cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup salsa
- ¼ cup sliced black olives
Optional toppings:
- sliced green onions chopped tomatoes, taco sauce, and sour cream
Instructions
- Brown the beef in a skillet and then mix in the taco seasoning plus however much water it says on the package.
- Cook the mixture according to the package directions.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Press the dough into a 12-inch pizza pan, in a 9 x 13-inch pan, or on a pizza stone, then bake for 8 minutes.
- Combine the salsa and refried beans and spread this over the pizza crust (you might not need it all).
- Add the beef mixture on top and then the olives and cheese.
- Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Top with tomatoes and green onions and also some sour cream and/or taco sauce if liked.
