Conchitas Con Carne (Mexican Hamburger And Shells)
This delicious one-pot beef and pasta shells recipe makes a lovely midweek meal, either as it is or paired with one or two tasty side dishes.

- 1 pound ground sirloin beef
- 4 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 cups uncooked pasta shells
- 4 or 5 cups water
- ¼ chopped small onion
- ¼ sliced red bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
Brown the meat in a large pot.
Add all the remaining ingredients, breaking the bouillon cube up first.
Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes.
Cover and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes, or until the pasta shells are al dente.
Serve hot.
