Jalapeno Popper Chicken Taquitos

If you’re a fan of jalapeno poppers as well as chicken taquitos, here’s a hybrid dish that’s going to have you licking your lips and begging for more. This is one of those dishes that’s versatile enough to be an appetizer, snack or even the main dish depending on serving size. As well as whether or not you can stop munching on these crispy treats!

Jalapeno Popper Chicken Taquitos

The spice of jalapeno poppers pairs up with the crispy crunch of taquitos and then you also have chicken in there, along with ooey-gooey cream cheese, salty bacon, chewy tortillas, fragrant garlic, and more.

Using rotisserie chicken means cutting down on the prep/cook time and then you can make the filling in one bowl. Roll up your jalapeno popper taquitos and either air fry, deep fry, pan fry, or bake them until the kitchen smells incredible and you just have to have one.

Can You Make Them Ahead?

Yes, you can cook them and reheat them later. To reheat them, give them a couple of minutes in the air fryer at 400 degrees F, or 5 minutes in the oven at 375 degrees F. A quicker option is 30 seconds in the microwave but they won’t come out crispy this way.

Storage Instructions

Leftovers will keep for up to 3 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.

Variations and Substitutions:

Discard all the seeds and white membrane from the jalapenos to reduce the spiciness. Use freshly cooked or canned chicken instead of rotisserie chicken. If you aren’t a corn tortilla fan, sub flour tortillas instead.

These crunchy taquitos are made with all the components of jalapeno poppers as well as the ingredients in chicken taquitos. It’s like your two favorite Mexican comfort foods fell in love and had a baby. These are super-popular at parties and BBQs, so double up. They aren’t going to last for long!
