Instant Pot Chili
Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 28 ounces canned diced tomatoes in juice
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 24 ounces canned tomato sauce
- 1½ teaspoons minced garlic
- ¾ cup beef broth
- 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
- ¾ teaspoon black pepper
- 15 ounces kidney beans drained
- 15 ounces pinto beans drained
- Toppings eg shredded cheese, green onions, tomatoes, and sour cream
Instructions
- Saute the ground beef in olive oil using the Instant Pot saute setting until browned throughout.
- Add the onion and cook for 3 more minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, chili powder, cumin, beef broth, paprika, sugar, salt, cocoa powder, pepper, and drained rinsed beans.
- Select the chili/beans setting and cover the pot. Cook for 20 minutes.
- Allow the pressure to release naturally or release it manually, then serve with your preferred toppings.
